14TH MARCH, INTERNATIONAL DAY OF MATHEMATICS
WE USE MATHS EVERY DAY WITHOUT EVEN THINKING ABOUT IT!
The International Day of Mathematics (IDM), held on 14th March 2021, is a worldwide celebration. Join in!
Mathematics is firstly about understanding, however no understanding will be sufficient without practicing and using your mind. It is not only about listening to the teacher explaining the topic, it is about using these topics in everyday life.
If you concentrate too much solely on the same type of tasks where you are constrained to mostly write repetitive answers, it is easy to forget, that the key to unlocking the door to maths knowledge is to learn how to think.
The theme for 2021 is Mathematics for a Better World.

Why not giving it a go yourself and have a think about where you use maths! It could be when paying for a chocolate bar, or when thinking at what time your class starts, or even when calculating which path to school is a shortcut!
Your challenge: Show us where you use maths - write it as a task, draw a picture, prepare a poster you can share with others...
Karen, our head tutor, will be thrilled to receive your ideas at
